Authorities Tuesday publicly recognized a 32-year-old girl who was killed final weekend in a wrong-way site visitors crash on Interstate 15 in Serra Mesa.

Yannira Rodriguez of San Diego was heading south when her Honda Match was struck by an Infiniti QX30 touring to the north on the unsuitable aspect of the freeway close to Aero Drive about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, in keeping with the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Workplace and California Freeway Patrol.

The Infiniti then continued on to the north earlier than crashing right into a Nissan Altima, CHP public-affairs Officer Salvador Castro stated.

Emergency crews freed Rodriguez from her crumpled automotive earlier than announcing her lifeless on the scene of the wreck.

Paramedics took a girl who had been driving in Rodriguez’s automotive and the motive force of the Infiniti, a 25-year-old La Mesa man, to hospitals for therapy of significant accidents. Their names haven’t been launched.

“Alcohol and/or medication are suspected to be an element within the crash,” Castro stated.
