The usMidway Museum will commemorate the 82nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day with a commemoration ceremony on the flight deck. The commemoration, which will probably be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, will embody a wreath-laying and missing-man flyover.

On Dec. 7, 1941, the shock assault on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese Imperial Navy took the lives of greater than 2,400 navy members and civilians. The assault additionally catapulted america into World Struggle II. The usMidway Museum will commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor assault to pay tribute to all those that had been at Pearl Harbor. The ceremony will embody members of the U.S. Navy, navy veterans, households of Pearl Harbor survivors in addition to the San Diego group.

Keith Goosby, a retired U.S. Navy grasp chief petty officer and at present the Work and Household Life Coordinator for Navy Area Southwest, will present the keynote remarks throughout the ceremony. Goosby, who spent 30 years within the Navy, oversees help applications for active-duty navy members and their households associated to life abilities, private monetary administration, and navy transition to civilian life.

Goosby will inform the story of Pearl Harbor hero Doris “Dorie” Miller throughout the commemoration ceremony. Miller was the primary African-American recipient of the Navy Cross. Pearl Harbor survivor households can even be acknowledged throughout the ceremony.
