A person who allegedly threatened somebody with a screwdriver Thursday led police on a quick pursuit that ended along with his arrest following two crashes, certainly one of them with a police cruiser.

The suspect’s alleged threatening actions in Ocean Seashore, within the 2000 block of Abbott Avenue, have been reported shortly earlier than 2:30 p.m., based on San Diego police.

When patrol personnel caught up with the person minutes later, he refused to yield and fled north on Sundown Cliffs Boulevard, Officer Darius Jamsetjee stated. Within the space of Lotus Avenue, he slammed on the brakes of the Toyota Tacoma he was driving, inflicting a police automobile to rear-end it, Jamsetjee stated.

The suspect then jumped out of the broken pickup and tried to flee on foot. Officers took him into custody about 2:45 p.m. with assist from a service canine, Jamsetjee stated.

The title of the suspect, who additionally crashed the truck right into a parked car through the chase, was not launched by police.

No accidents have been reported, the spokesman stated.
