A supply driver struck a fuel line Friday in Carlsbad, inflicting a leak that prompted evacuations and re-routing of site visitors.

The accident occurred at 2:40 p.m., in accordance with Carlsbad police Lt. Scott Meritt.

“A truck by chance struck a fuel pipe at Huge Pig Liquor at 305 Carlsbad Village Drive, inflicting an open fuel leak,” Meritt stated.

Officers and fireplace division crews, he stated, labored collectively to evacuate folks within the quick space. San Diego Gasoline & Electrical, he added, needed to dig up the street earlier than controlling the leak, a course of that took about two hours.

Carlsbad Village Drive eastbound from Carlsbad Boulevard was closed briefly to permit completion of the repairs.
