A suspect in a stabbing that left an individual wounded at a Spring Valley motel Monday holed up there afterward and refused to give up, prompting a several-hour SWAT standoff that led to his arrest.

The assault on the Crown Inn Suites, 9603 Campo Street, was reported about 11 a.m., based on the San Diego County Sheriff’s Division.

Paramedics took the sufferer to a hospital for therapy of accidents of undisclosed severity, Lt. Michael Pepin stated.

The suspected assailant, whose identify was not instantly accessible, locked himself in one of many rooms on the motel and ignored repeated orders to exit unarmed and provides himself up peaceably, prompting sheriff’s officers to name in particular weapons and ways personnel, Pepin stated.

Deputies took the suspect into custody shortly earlier than 3 p.m., based on sheriff’s officers. Particulars on his arrest weren’t instantly accessible.
