A San Diego businessman pleaded responsible Thursday to creating false claims in an effort to web practically $3 million in funds meant to help companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In accordance with the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace, Thomas Zolezzi, 61, falsely represented the variety of workers, payroll and annual income for his enterprise in an effort to obtain three Paycheck Safety Program loans and two Financial Harm Catastrophe Loans.
Prosecutors say Zolezzi admitted to creating false statements on 5 mortgage purposes and that he used the funds he acquired for private bills.
His responsible plea consists of an settlement to pay $700,885 in restitution to the Small Enterprise Administration and nearly $2.24 million to Capital Plus Monetary.
