San Diego confirmed up for the 74th annual Golden Mikes over the weekend, with a information radio station and a Telemundo tv affiliate every receiving an award.

The Golden Mike Awards are handed out yearly by the nonprofit Radio & Tv Information Affiliation, which represents broadcast information professionals throughout Southern California.

Within the radio classes, San Diego’s KOGO received for Finest Radio Weekend Newscast. Los Angeles-area station KNX received for Finest Radio Newscast Over 15 Minutes and fellow LA station KFI for Finest Radio Newscast Beneath 15 Minutes.

On the tv aspect, KABC-7 got here away with three massive prizes from the 74th annual Golden Mike Awards, successful for Finest 60 Minute Newscast, Finest Daytime Tv Newscast, and Finest Weekend Tv Newscast. KNBC-4 was honored for the Finest 30 Minute Tv Newscast.

Within the small market tv division, KUAN-San Diego received for Finest 60 Minute Newscast and KESQ-Palm Springs for Finest Daytime Tv Newscast. Small market radio honors went to KMJ-Fresno for Finest Radio Newscast Beneath 15 Minutes and KCSB-Santa Barbara for Finest Radio Newscast Over 15 Minutes

Lifetime Achievement awards went to veteran reporters Michele Gile of KCBS/KCAL and Eric Spillman of KTLA. Invoice Handel of KFI was honored with the 2024 RTNA Broadcast Legend Award.

The awards had been handed out Saturday throughout a ceremony on the Common Hilton Lodge in Common Metropolis.
