Marking one other milestone in San Diego State College’s Mission Valley growth, officers on Saturday held a smooth opening for the model new River Park.

Positioned at SDSU Mission Valley, the finished 34-acre river park options multi-use leisure fields, greater than 4 miles of mountain climbing and biking trails and extra.

Although the river park is now open to the general public, an official grand opening is ready for spring 2024 following completion of extra park and open house nonetheless underneath building alongside Murphy Canyon Creek.

SDSU broke floor on the river park in April 2021. The river park is an element of SDSU Mission Valley, which incorporates Snapdragon Stadium, open since fall of 2022.

The preliminary housing and retail initiatives have been accredited final month by the California State College (CSU) Board of Trustees. The primary SDSU Mission Valley Innovation District mission is ready to start subsequent 12 months following the board’s approval.
