An eagle-eyed San Diego police officer stopped a carjacking in progress early Wednesday after tailing a person he had noticed being aggressive in Hillcrest.

The officer was leaving Scripps Mercy Hospital at round 3:15 a.m. when he noticed the person being confrontational and began following him, in response to OnScene.TV.

He referred to as for backup because the male topic approached the Shell fuel station at 4th Avenue and Washington Avenue. The suspect at that time walked in direction of a girl who was parked and cleansing out trash from her automobile, pushed her and jumped into the car.

Officers noticed the assault and one officer pulled up behind the suspect, blocking him from leaving within the sufferer’s automobile. A tree and light-weight pole blocked the suspect on the opposite facet.

Police arrested the tried carjacker at gunpoint. The sufferer was not injured.
