A 67-year-old man was injured when he was struck by a car within the El Cerrito space of San Diego by a hit-and-run motorist who helped him get to security earlier than leaving the scene, authorities stated Tuesday.

The crash was at 9:11 p.m. Monday within the 5400 block of College Avenue, stated San Diego Police Officer D. O’Brien.

The person stepped into the trail of the car within the westbound lanes of College Avenue, O’Brien stated.

“The driving force of the car, described solely as a male, assisted the pedestrian to the curb,” the officer stated. “The driving force reentered his car and fled the scene.”

Paramedics took the pedestrian to a hospital the place his accidents had been decided to be not life-threatening, O’Brien stated.

The crash is beneath investigation.
