Oceanside Police Tuesday introduced that Capt. Taurino Valdovinos would be the division’s subsequent assistant chief of police, changing assistant chief Sean Marchand who retired final week.

Valdovinos has been with Oceanside Police for 20 years and has labored in a wide range of specialised assignments, together with the Gang Suppression Unit, Particular Enforcement Part and the Neighborhood Police Staff, in accordance with the division.

“Capt. Valdovinos is a confirmed chief in our division who will convey many strengths and skills to his new task,” mentioned Carlsbad Police Chief Kedrick Sadler.

As a sergeant, Valdovinos supervised within the Patrol Division and later grew to become the sergeant in command of the Neighborhood Policing Staff.

Working as a lieutenant, Valdovinos managed the Normal Investigations Part in addition to the Neighborhood Policing and Help Operations Part, the police division mentioned.

In his present task, Valdovinos oversees the Help Operations Division.

He holds a grasp’s diploma from the College of Cincinnati and can be a graduate of the FBI Nationwide Academy.

The police division mentioned Valdovinos has been concerned within the Oceanside group, and was primarily liable for beginning the division’s Oceanside Youth Partnership Mentorship Program.
