A 24-year-old male motorcyclist was severely injured in a collision with a subcompact crossover SUV in Pacific Seaside Thursday.

Officers responded to the 4000 block of Lamont Road, two blocks south of Pacific Seaside Drive, round 5:30 p.m. to a report relating to a collision, in accordance with San Diego Police Division spokesman Officer Robert Heims.

A preliminary investigation revealed to detectives that the motorcyclist was touring southbound on Lamont Road on his 2022 Kawasaki Ninja bike at excessive velocity moments earlier than colliding into the passenger aspect of a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek touring westbound on Fortuna Avenue, Heims mentioned.

The Subaru stopped at a cease signal at Fortuna Avenue moments earlier than continuing ahead and being struck. In accordance with Heims, the motorcyclist sustained accidents to his pelvis, legs and arms. He was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
