A person suspected of deliberately sparking a sequence of minor fires Tuesday in a neighborhood close to the intersection of state Route 94 and SR-125 was arrested close to the positioning of one of many blazes, authorities reported.

The fires alongside Bancroft Drive and Troy Road in Spring Valley erupted shortly earlier than 6 a.m., burning trash, wooden pallets and a business rubbish bin, based on the San Diego County Sheriff’s Division.

“Firefighters and several other witnesses arrived and put out the small fires,” sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Portillo mentioned.

Deputies took 33-year-old Marcus Anthony Fox into custody for allegedly beginning the blazes.

Fox was booked into San Diego Central Jail on 4 counts of arson. He was being held on $50,000 bail pending arraignment, which is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
