Investigators Tuesday sought to find out what induced a deadly Labor Day visitors crash close to Dos Picos County Park.

The wreck came about shortly after 3:30 a.m. Monday, when a 23-year- previous man misplaced management of the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta he was driving on state Route 67 in Ramona, in keeping with the California Freeway Patrol.

The northbound automotive veered to the left over a set of double yellow strains close to Boortz Lane, crossing straight into the trail of a southbound 2019 Toyota Camry, CHP public-affairs Officer Jared Grieshaber mentioned.

The ensuing head-on collision mortally wounded the motive force of the Volkswagen, who was not carrying a seat belt. The person, a Ramona resident, died on the scene of the accident. His identify was withheld pending household notification.

Paramedics took the 20-year-old Ramona girl who had been driving the Camry to Palomar Medical Heart for remedy of non-life-threatening accidents.

It was not instantly clear if intoxication was an element within the crash, Grieshaber mentioned.
