An individual apparently jaywalking in Mira Mesa was struck and killed by an SUV pushed by a 70-year-old man, the San Diego Police Division reported Tuesday.

The collision occurred at 7:39 p.m. Monday on Mira Mesa Boulevard at Westview Parkway, in keeping with Officer John Buttle.

The sufferer, a person in his 40s, was crossing Mira Mesa Boulevard from north to south in violation of posted indicators, Buttle stated.

He stated the person was hit by a black 2001 Ford Expedition and died at a hospital from a number of fractures, collapsed lungs and blunt pressure trauma.

The motive force was unhurt and alcohol was not an element within the collision, Buttle stated.

SDPD’s Visitors Division officers responded to the scene and have been investigating the collision.
