A head-on collision resulted within the dying of a 44- year-old girl and the arrest of a 26-year-old man on suspicion of impaired driving, California Freeway Patrol officers stated Monday.

The crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. Saturday when a Ramona man was driving a 2019 Ford F-350 eastbound on State Route 78, west of Weekend Villa Highway, in line with CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber.

A Ramona girl was driving a 2007 Ford Edge westbound on SR-78 approaching the Ford F-350, the officer stated.

“The motive force of the Ford F-350 allowed his automobile to cross over the stable double yellow traces and drive into the westbound lane of state Route 78, inflicting the entrance of the Ford F-350 to crash into the entrance of the Ford Edge,” Grieshaber stated. “The power of the affect induced the Ford Edge to roll down an embankment north of the roadway.”

The motive force of the Edge was declared useless on the scene, he stated.

The motive force of the Ford F-350 left his automobile on the crash scene and fled on foot, Grieshaber stated. A short while later, the person was situated at his residence in Ramona and arrested and booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of impaired driving. His title was not instantly obtainable.

The title of the useless girl was withheld pending notification of kinfolk.
