A former North County swim teacher who was arrested twice on allegations of molesting younger swim college students pleaded responsible in Vista Tuesday to felony and misdemeanor costs.
Nicholas Piazza, 20, is slated to be sentenced to eight years in state jail subsequent month following his pleas to a felony county of a lewd or lascivious act in opposition to a minor beneath the age of 14 and two misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a toddler.
Piazza was previously an teacher at Callan Swim College in San Marcos and was arrested on allegations of inappropriately touching a 6-year-old boy throughout a lesson there in the summertime of 2021. He was later launched on bail and ordered to not work with youngsters.
He was arrested once more final fall after what prosecutors allege was inappropriate touching of a 7-year-old boy throughout non-public classes at a residence. Piazza was ordered held with out bail following his second arrest and has remained in custody since final September.
Callan Swim College was later sued by a mother or father of one of many victims, in keeping with the Coast Information, which reported final month that the lawsuit was settled for $40,000.
