Native firefighters and engine OES 8334 returned safely Saturday after a five-day deployment offering mutual help to the huge Highland Hearth in Aguanga, in response to the Escondido Hearth Division.
The wildfire has charred 2,487 acres close to the junction of Highways 79 and 317. Hearth officers mentioned the blaze was 70% contained Saturday, with full containment anticipated by Monday.
Aguanga is positioned about 18 miles east of Temecula in Riverside County.
