A prisoner who walked away from a reentry program was taken into custody, authorities mentioned Monday.

Quintin G. Wilkerson, 53, was arrested Sunday in Escondido by the Escondido Police Division following a brief foot pursuit, in line with the California Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Wilkerson was taken to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility. His case might be referred to the San Diego County District Legal professional for potential escape expenses.

Wilkerson was sentenced to 6 years in jail for home violence, and he has been housed on the Male Neighborhood Reentry Program in San Diego since Jan. 23, authorities mentioned. He allegedly walked away from this system on March 15.

The MCRP permits eligible folks dedicated to state jail to serve the tip of their sentences within the reentry middle and gives applications to transition from custody to the group. It’s a voluntary program for males who’ve roughly two years or much less left to serve.
