U.S. Geological Survey map reveals the placement of the earthquake.

A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was reported early Tuesday close to rural Borrego Springs within the east San Diego County desert.

The U.S. Geological Survey mentioned the quake struck at 2:19 a.m. about 9 miles east-northeast of the city. It was about it six miles deep.

The quake was felt as far-off as Escondido and Poway, the USGS mentioned.

There have been no studies of injury or accidents.
