Sundown Elementary College in San Ysidro obtained a novel reward this week and the general public artwork was primarily based on the work of younger college students.

Due to a company program to revitalize neighborhood sports activities and play courts in at-risk areas, college students have been paired with an artist to create a vibrant mural to be painted on the courts.

Sundown college students created drawings that served as inspiration for famend Tijuana graffiti and plastic artist Nestor Hem, who formed a design for the college.

AT&T volunteers painted and rehabilitated the sports activities courtroom on campus on Thursday, primarily based on Hem’s design.

In August 2022, AT&T Mexico launched “Revive tu Cancha,” or “Revive Your Courtroom,” with the purpose of portray and rehabilitating 50 multi-purpose courts throughout Mexico.

This system, although, included two websites from the U.S. Officers from the San Ysidro College District joined Sundown directors and AT&T representatives for the portray occasion.

The work is also being completed to mark the #USMX200 Bicentennial celebration of the yr, 1822, when formal diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Mexico have been established. On Sept. 13, AT&T held an occasion to formally announce the collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.

With 30 courts rehabilitated to this point, the remaining courts are set to be completed this yr.
