A Coronado bike police sergeant was injured after being struck by a automobile Sunday.

The Coronado Police Division informed 10News San Diego that the accident occurred at 9 a.m. Sunday in a residential space of Coronado, the place a car allegedly pulled out of an alley at Sixth Avenue and Alameda Boulevard and hit the officer.

After being struck, the officer’s bike was caught on the grill of the car. He flew over the handlebars of his patrol bike onto the hood of the car and hit the windshield, based on Coronado police.

“The officer was aware and was capable of radio for assist,” based on Coronado police. He was then taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.
