A predawn home dispute in a Santee residence close to on Friday led to an almost eight-hour regulation enforcement standoff that ended within the arrest of a person wished on unrelated drug fees.

The 31-year-old suspect refused to exit a house within the 8600 block of Fanita Drive when deputies arrived in response to a reported disturbance there at about 2:30 a.m., in keeping with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Division.

Lt. Chris Galve instructed reporters the suspect had a felony warrant for narcotics, was believed to be armed and was not permitting a lady to depart the residence.

After the suspect, whose identify was not instantly obtainable, refused repeated orders to free the lady and exit the house, a SWAT group was known as in, Galve mentioned.

Disaster negotiators ultimately persuaded the person to permit the lady to depart the house.

“The (lady) exited the residence unhurt,” the lieutenant mentioned. “She was escorted to security by our deputies out right here within the discipline.”

The suspect continued refusing to give up till late morning, when he lastly complied after deputies set off a concussion grenade and tear-gas dispensers within the residence.

The incident resulted in no accidents, the lieutenant mentioned.
