4 residents of a two-story house within the Linda Vista neighborhood have been displaced Monday after a hearth within the attic, the San Diego Hearth-Rescue Division stated.

Hearth crews responded at 12:08 a.m. Monday to a report of smoke at a house advanced within the 2100 block of Drescher Road, in accordance with a SDFRD log. They discovered an attic fireplace above one of many models.

The house’s occupants left earlier than crews arrived and nobody was injured.

4 residents have been assisted by the Pink Cross.

The reason for the fireplace was unintended, fireplace officers stated.

Estimated harm to the construction was $500,000 and to the contents, $100,000.

Estimated harm to adjoining models was $100,000.

The fireplace was reported to be extinguished at 2:13 a.m.
