Two suspects have been arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing a 70-year-old man at a trolley cease in Logan Heights, the San Diego Police Division introduced Wednesday.

Rafael Chavarria, 36, was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Monday on the trolley cease at 1255 Imperial Ave., and Angelo Soto Vargas, 29, was situated in a camper within the 3300 block of Ok Avenue in San Diego and was arrested at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday in reference to the stabbing, in response to SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski.

Chavarria and Vargas have been booked into the San Diego Central Jail. Chavarria was booked on suspicion of first-degree homicide and misdemeanor elder abuse. Vargas was booked on suspicion of homicide misdemeanor DUI and elder abuse. They’re each tentatively scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, in response to jail information.

Michael Goodin, 70, of San Diego, was stabbed round 10:32 p.m. Aug. 24 at a trolley cease within the Logan Heights neighborhood, the lieutenant mentioned. Detectives discovered Goodin received concerned in a short argument with a small group of males and a lady within the moments earlier than a struggle broke out. Through the altercation, Goodin was stabbed not less than one time within the chest and crushed, Shebloski mentioned. He was taken to a hospital, the place he died. The group fled the world.
